                  Romeo travels to Washington DC with 7th Grade Horizon Students.

                  The Romeo Flag departed for Washington DC from HMS on Monday, May 16th, with close to 40 7th grade Horizon students along with 5 chaperones.  The group returned on Friday, May 20th.  Day 1 included lunch at Michie Tavern and a tour of Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home).  Day 2 included a visit to the Holocaust Memorial Museum, lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, a visit to the National Archives, the Newseum, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Memoria, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Iwo Jima Memorial.  Day 3 included a short stop at the White House for pictures, a visit to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Museum of American History, the National Cathedral, and a ghost tour in the old city.  Day 4 consisted of a visit to the US Capitol, the Library of Congress, the World War II Memorial, the FDR Memorial, the Arlington National Cemetery, Pentagon City Mall, and the Jefferson Memorial.  Day 5 included a visit to the Smithsonian Institution's Steven F. Udyar-Hazy Center on the way home.  Below is a photo diary of some of the sights.
